PDRacer in search of a loving home - free
By Dan Bender #1104 "Ziggy Starboard" (1ar)The PDRacer Ziggy Starboard (Hull 1104) is in need of a loving home. Free to any PDR enthusiast who'll enjoy sailing her and can pick her up from Bethesda, Maryland. Ziggy is a version of the classic Modular PDR by Ken Simpson. Modifications to Ken's design include a centerboard trunk, a jib in addition to the mainsail, a kickup rudder, 'Auxiliary Power Units' (a/k/a paddles) built into the hull, a compass, a heel gauge, a cart, and brass clasps which secure the bow and stern to the main hull. As with Ken's design, the bow and stern fit inside the main hull. Everything fits inside a CR-V with the main hull section on top. I imagine the entire thing will inside a Suburban, Pilot, Highlander, etc. I'm happy to show you how to assemble, rig, and disassemble Ziggy. And -- perhaps best of all -- Ziggy honors David Bowie's memory with her name and lightning bolt! Please contact me if you are interested.
