Airboxes On The Sides Of The Hull

For ducks intended primarily for racing, this is the most popular configuration. You can press the boat hard, and if knocked over, can pop her back upright and get back to sailing right away.

Here Scott lays his boat over in the water. You can see that the entire hull is supported by the airbox and there is no water in the cockpit. The side airbox is 7" wide, which is just about right.

His hull has a daggerboard built into the side airbox. He used the daggerboard as a lever to bring the hull back upright.

When righted, the inside of the hull is dry - no water to bail.
